How to Fly With a Pack 'n Play

A Graco Pack 'n Play is an important item for many parents traveling with young children, as the playpen gives children a safe place to sleep when a crib isn't available in a guest room or hotel. If you're flying with a Pack 'n Play, you won't be able to carry it onto the airplane as it is too big to fit under your seat or overhead, but you can check the playpen as if it were a piece of luggage.

Instructions

    • 1

Collapse the Pack 'n Play and put it inside the drawstring case it came with to protect it from being banged around in the airplane cargo area. Put the whole thing into a heavy black garbage bag, using two if needed to cover the entire Pack 'n Play.

    • 2

Wrap electrical tape around the garbage bags as if you were wrapping an electric cord around the handle of a curling iron.

    • 3

Fill out a luggage tag with your name, home address and phone number on it and tie it around the wrapped Pack 'n Play so it can be returned to you if it gets lost in transit.

    • 4

Take the wrapped Pack 'n Play to the check in desk when you arrive at the airport. Let the staff know you want to check it and they will place it with the rest of the airline luggage. If you are over your baggage limit, you may have to pay a fee as well.
