Disney Tips for Adults

Visiting Disney as an adult can be as magical as it is for a visiting child. Knowing where to find special experiences and being able to enjoy the simple experiences both inside and outside the theme parks help adults make the most of their visits. Both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California offer special experiences for their adult visitors.
  1. Attend a Special Event

    • Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World offer a range of special events for guests to enjoy. A popular and adult friendly special event at both Florida's EPCOT park and Disney's California Adventure park is the annual Food and Wine festival, offering food and wine tastings, special culinary demonstrations and unique meal showcases. While the exact dates vary each year, the Florida event takes place in the fall, with the California event taking place in the late spring.

    Celebration Buttons

    • Adults celebrating a special occasion should be sure to ask at their Disney hotel or at a park's guest relations window for celebration buttons. The buttons are complimentary and are available for special events like engagements, anniversaries, honeymoons and birthdays. Most of the buttons can be personalized with a name for an extra special touch. Disney cast members and other park guests often notice the buttons and offer their congratulations.

    Dine Out

    • Adults looking for romantic dining may enjoy the signature restaurants at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, as they provide gourmet menus and extensive wine lists. Adults visiting Walt Disney World may wish to visit Victoria and Albert's, a AAA five-star restaurant with dining limited to adults and children ages 10 and over.

    Enjoy the Rides

    • Adults have a wide range of ride options to choose from at Disney parks from the thrilling Space Mountain roller coasters to the tamer "It's a small world" rides at both Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida. While most of the parks' rides are designed with children in mind, adults are able to enjoy all the rides that suit their interests, with or without children.

    Visit Downtown Disney

    • Downtown Disney offers a wide array of entertainment, shopping and dining options in both Florida and California for adults to enjoy. Among other activities, Downtown Disney, on both coasts, offers a House of Blues venue for adults looking to enjoy a concert and an AMC movie theater, as well as a range of free outdoor entertainment.

    Take a Tour

    • Disney offers a range of guided tours in both California and Florida for adults looking to get a behind-the-scenes look at Disneyland or Walt Disney World. Tours are given throughout the year with special seasonal and holiday tours offered to guests periodically throughout the year.
