How to Rent a Motorized Wheelchair at Disney World Florida

Stretching across thousands of acres, the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida can be tough to get around in, especially for those with mobility challenges. Although personally owned wheelchairs can be taken into the resort, you might find it easier to rent a motorized wheelchair right at the resort. Most of the parks within the resort have easily accessible rental stations where you can rent the motorized wheelchair you need to make your visit easier.

Instructions

    • 1

Arrive early at the park you are visiting. Each park has a limited number of motorized wheelchairs available for rent, and they are rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • 2

Go to the wheelchair rental location. Each park has one located inside the front entrance. If you need help locating the rental shop, consult a park map or ask an employee.

    • 3

Pay for the motorized wheelchair rental. You must be 18 years or older to rent.

    • 4

Do not take the motorized wheelchair from one park to another. On rental, you will receive a deposit ticket. If you visit more than one park in the same day, show your deposit ticket at each park and you will be able to get another wheelchair without charge. Keep in mind that the subsequent parks might not have any motorized wheelchairs left to rent.

    • 5

Return the wheelchair to the rental station when you leave the park.
