The Museo de Arte is located in the Santurce neighborhood of San Juan and was constructed in a former hospital that was built in a Neoclassical style. The museum, which opened in 2000, is the largest and most extensive art museum in the Caribbean. The Museo de Arte features 1,100 pieces of art in a variety of styles and genres. Guests at the museum can enjoy the five-acre sculpture garden that is located on the grounds or eat at the museum's restaurant, Pikayo. The Museo de Arte is open seven days a week and costs $6 for adults and $3 for children.

El Yunque is home to the El Portal Tropical Forest Center, a nature preserve where tourists and locals can hike on trails and be exposed to over 200 types of birds and trees. The El Portal Tropical Forest Center is also home to several large and beautiful waterfalls. Hikers in the forest are able to follow the trails on their own or join one of several daily hiking tours.
