Located in eastern Windsor, the Ojibway Prairie is a 220-acre, savannah-type recreational area that is less than 20 minutes from downtown Windsor. This park offers opportunities for bird watching, as well as paths for nature walks and cycling. According to the park's website, the most activity in plant life occurs during the summer months, when new species of plants and flowers come into bloom on a weekly basis.

Peche Island is an 85-acre island park located on the Detroit River. No water ferry service runs to the island, but it is accessible by using canoes, kayaks or private boats. The island has hiking trails, and is home to bird species, such as the canvasback, bald eagles and peregrine falcons. Peche Island also features ruins of an early 20th century summer house of Hiram Walker.

Windsor's Community Museum in downtown Windsor is less than five minutes' walking distance from the banks of the Detroit River. This museum features exhibits of artifacts and artwork that relate to the history and culture of Windsor. Some of the artifacts at Windsor's Community Museum include an early 20th century police callbox, a Detroit River ferry ticket dating back to the early 19th century and a violin that was created in 1792. "By the River's Edge," one of the museum's permanent collections, has artwork that dates back to the early 19th century.

St. Clair College Centre for the Arts is a performing arts center that is less than five minutes' walking distance from the Detroit River. This center includes several venues, such as the banquet rooms and the 1,200-seat Chrysler Theatre. Events at St. Clair include live theater, music concerts and conferences. In-house catering is available for all the events at St. Clair.
