United Airlines limits the weight and size of checked luggage flown within the continental United States or to Canada or Puerto Rico to 50 pounds and no longer than 62 linear inches. These weight and size rules apply for the first two checked bags. If a passenger checks more than two bags, there will be additional fees.
A first acceptably sized checked bag costs $25 and a second acceptably sized checked bag costs $35. For international travel on United Economy, one free checked bag will be allowed.
For flights within the continental United States, to the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico or Canada, American Airlines charges $25 for the first checked bag, $35 for the second checked bag and $100 each for the third, fourth and fifth checked bag, and $200 each thereafter.
From Mexico to the United States, Canada, Europe or India and vice versa, American Airlines allows one free checked bag and charges $30 for the second.
For flights to or from the United States or territories to Europe or India or vice versa, the first checked bag is free while the second costs $50.
For domestic flights, luggage must weight less than 50 pounds. A bag that weighs between 50 and 70 pounds will cost $50, while bags more than 70 pounds will cost $100.
Each piece of luggage checked in with Delta Airlines must weight 50 pounds or fewer and must not measure more than 62 inches in length, width and height.
The first bag checked will cost $25, while the second will cost $35 if traveling within the continental United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands or Canada.
If traveling between the United States, Mexico, Canada, Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda or the Cayman Islands, the first checked bag is free while the second costs $30.
If traveling between the United States or Canada and Europe, the first bag is free while the second costs $55.
If traveling between Europe and India, the second bag will cost 50 euros. If traveling to or from Brazil, two checked bags are allowed at no cost.
