How to Word a New Address Announcement

If you are moving to a new home, remember to send change-of-address cards to your friends and family. Post offices offer cards for this purpose; however, they tend to be quite plain. If you are willing to invest a little time and effort, you could make change-of-address cards that are full of personality.

Instructions

Choose a wording style. Examples include a catchy rhyme followed by your new information, or your new information accompanied by a sweet, humorous or professional line or two. Whichever style you choose, keep your announcement short and to the point. You want your announcement recipients to be able to read the card quickly and refer to it easily.

Research a catchy rhyme or write one yourself. Examples include: " We've moved again but we haven't traveled far. We're sending you a note so you'll know where we are. Our new address is ..." or " We're finally moved and boy it was rough. We never knew we had so much stuff! Our new address Is ..." A slightly longer example is " We finally moved, but we'll still be around. We didn't go far just across town! The boxes are gone, we've cleaned up the mess. We'd like to give you our new address. Please get your address book and pen. The ____ family has moved again."

Write a short announcement if a rhyme is not your style. Examples include: " We've moved! Our new address is ... Give us a ring! Our new phone number is ..." or "Our address has been changed to ... Please visit us soon!" For a more professional announcement, you could simply write: "The ____ Family

      is now residing at ..."
