Arrange for the post office to stop mail delivery. It's a simple task. On a computer with Internet access log onto USPS.com, and this will pull up the main United States Postal Service. On this page proceed to the box marked "Learn About More," in this box there is a tab labeled "Your Mail Delivery." Click on this tab that will forward you to the next page.
Look on this next page, Your Mail Delivery page, where there is an option called "Hold Mail." Upon clicking on this Hold Mail tab the following page asks for the ZIP code of the home you wish to have the mail held from. Some ZIP codes do not have the online hold service available. When same day hold service is needed, the request must be done by 2 a.m. CST Monday through Saturday.
Push "Go" button after entering the ZIP code. It will pull up a page that requests all the needed information to hold the mail. When the hold is finished, the mail will resume on the day supplied. If changes need to be made to the request, go back through the steps mentioned and there will be a tab marked "Edit" or "Cancel" your mail hold.
