Go to any of the Lake Worth Post Office locations to pick up a hold mail request form (lakeworth.org). The hold mail request form is located inside the post office; the form is yellow and free of charge.
Enter your name and home address on the hold mail request form. Write down the date you want your mail service stopped and the date you want your mail service to resume. Indicate whether or not you want your accumulated mail delivered or if you want to pick it up.
Hand the form to any postal employee or place it in your mailbox at home and raise the flag. Your postal delivery person will take it from your mailbox and file it for you at the post office.
Go online and visit the USPS website. Locate the "Receiving Mail" link under the "Products and Services" section and run your mouse over it. A drop down menu will appear; click "Put Mail on Hold."
Enter your Zip code and click "Go."
Complete the following pages by providing your name, address, phone number, the date you want your mail stopped, the date you want your mail resumed, whether or not you want to pick up your mail or have your postal delivery person deliver all your accumulated mail.
Read the terms and conditions and agree to them before submitting your request. To have your mail stopped the same day your request must be submitted no later than 2 a.m. Monday to Saturday. You can submit your request up to two weeks before your departure date.
