How to Renew a Passport in Hours
Private services are required to renew a passport quickly, provided your reason for needing it does not include a life-threatening emergency. If it does, the U.S. Department of State urges you to call the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-4-USA-PPT (1-877-487-2778).
- Social Security Number
- Primary evidence of U.S. citizenship (one of the following): previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport; certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state; Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth; Naturalization Certificate; Certificate of Citizenship
- Identification: previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport, Naturalization Certificate, valid driver's license, current government ID (city, state or federal), current military ID (military and dependents)
- Photocopy of Identification
- Two passport -size photos
- Additional requirements for applicants under 17:
- Both parents or guardians, with photo identification
- Photocopy of parent/guardian photo identification
- Evidence of parental relationship: minor's certified U.S. birth certificate with both parents' names, minor's certified foreign birth certificate with both parents' names, minor's report of birth abroad with both parents' names, adoption decree with adopting parents' names, court order establishing custody or guardianship.

Select the expedited service that serve you will best. Faster service has a higher processing fee, so select 24-hour service only if necessary.

Fill out the applicant information, using your full legal name and the best contact information.

Supply all travel information if prompted, including airline, dates and times of travel and flight numbers.

Select the appropriate shipping option (more if you require Saturday delivery service), and purchase the passport-replacement insurance, which will replace the document if it is lost, stolen or damaged.

Submit your supporting documents through courier or expedited mail service to the address supplied. After paying for your purchase, you will receive detailed instructions on the screen or through email. An address will be supplied for the receipt of your documents.
