Though Disney does not specifically state that you should bring your own child-floatation device or vest on a Disney cruise, their recommendation is to bring appropriate swimwear for kids. There are no lifeguards permanently stationed at pool, so younger children or those who have not learned to swim should have proper supervision and attire.
Floats and tubes are available for guests to rent. Rentals are available on a daily basis. Children under 13 can rent and pick up floats and tubes but must be accompanied by an adult to do so. This is another option for guests wanting a float or tube but wishing to pack light.
Disney Cruise Line ships offer two pools on board for children: Mickey's Pool, which is specifically reserved for kids, and Goofy's Pool, which is designed for families and all guests. However, according to the Disney Cruise Line website, the United States Public Health Service rules state that children cannot use shipboard pools and spas unless they are toilet trained. Disney ships have a fountain play area, near Mickey's Pool, for young children who are not toilet trained.
