How to Make a Virtual Tour to Post

Whether you're advertising a house for sale, showing off new renovations or premises or simply bringing a vacation destination home with you, a virtual tour can be a great way to share any location with friends and clients over the Internet. With the prevalence and ease of free photo hosting and blogging platforms, creating a simple virtual tour of any location can be an effective form of advertising and simple publicity.

Instructions

    • 1

Take a series of digital photos of your location. Concentrate on taking photos of attractive features, notable places and other points of interest. Make sure all photos are clear and showcase the subject, not the photographer's taste for canted angles and odd focus.

    • 2

Choose the best photos, the ones that showcase the location best.

    • 3

Upload these photos to a photo hosting website, such as Photobucket, ImageShack or Flickr. Many of these allow you to set up a free account, with fancier paid options available.

    • 4

Set up a web page or blog, if you don't already have one. See Resources for some free blogging software options. Open up a new blog entry or page.

    • 5

Embed your digital photos in an order that reflects the physical locations of the things depicted, using the HTML provided by your photo hosting service. For example, if your tour is of a house for sale, embed the photo of the front door right before the photo of the foyer, which in turn is right before the photo of the living room to the left of the front door.

    • 6

Add captions between the photos to describe what is in them. Optionally, indicate the location of each object with respect to the last.

    • 7

Save and publish the entry. Post a link to it on message boards, other blogs and social networks.
