How to Make a Video Map Tour

Adding videos to your digital map will make a great visual for a guided tour. Google Maps allows you to make your own personalized tour with added video for free. Even if you have little to no knowledge about software or making web pages, Google My Maps provides you with the necessary tools to create a live action map with ease. You can add video to a map of anything, whether it is a simple localized walking tour or an around-the-globe trot.

Instructions

    • 1

Login to your Google account. Open Google Maps and click on the "My Maps" option on the upper left tab. Click on "Create a New Map." Enter a title and description for your map.

    • 2

Create a mark for the start point of your map. You will see this option on the upper left hand corner of the map. Give the start point a name.

    • 3

Select the straight line tool and begin to draw your path. Double click to finish drawing the route and add a title to the end point.

    • 4

Mark the places where you intend to stop. When the Title and Description bubble is prompted, click on "Edit HTML." In the text box, copy and paste the YouTube code of the video you wish to have in the map.
