Look at the top of a copy of your visa application for your application number. The number helps the call center agent track your application faster. However, if you don't have the number, don't worry; the agent can track your application with your name.
Call the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration Canada's call center between the hours of 8 am and 4pm, EST, Monday through Friday if your visa application is being processed within Canada. The number for the call center is 1-888-242-2100. Listen to the prerecorded information and choose the "Check the status of your application" option. Your call is forwarded to a live agent.
Tell the agent your visa application number, if you have it, or your name. The agent looks up your application and tells you its status.
Contact the Canadian visa office that you sent your application to if this office was outside of Canada. Call center agents only can check the status of visa applications processed within Canada. Visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website for a list of countries and the corresponding contact information for Canadian visa offices.
