Download, print and complete the Temporary Resident Visa (visitor visa) Application form IMM5257 from the website of the Citizenship and Immigration of Canada bureau (cic.gc.ca). The application form is a standard form for all visitors wishing to enter Canada.
Download and complete the Personal Information Form. This supplementary form is specific to those applying for a visitor visa to Canada from within the Philippines and therefore must be obtained from the website of the Canadian Embassy in Manila. The form requests additional information concerning your travel plans, employment in the Philippines and education.
Gather the additional documents. Along with the application forms, you must submit two identical passport size (35 by 45 mm) color photographs set against a white background with the face clear of obstructions, Philippines passport with six months remaining validity, proof of sufficient funds to cover your time in the United States (such as bank statements or transaction histories over the last six months), proof of any assets, letter or certificate of employment stating salary and permission for leave, a photocopy of your return ticket (if you already have one), a letter of invitation (if staying with friends or relatives) and the proper processing fees. For a single entry visa, the fee is CA$75 and for a multiple entry visa CA$150 (as of 2010). Payment must be made using the local currency.
Contact the call center to schedule an appointment for your application packet to be picked up (from your house) via a courier service. Do not take the application packet to the embassy in Manila personally. From within the Philippines, call either PLDT/Smart/Touchcard (909-101-8888), Bayantel (903-101-8888) or Globe/Innove/Touchmobile (900-101-8888).
Once your application is picked up, it will be taken to the embassy for processing. Your processed application (and visa if approved) will be returned via the same courier service (you will have to pay the service once it is delivered).
