One of the main attractions at the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology (most.org) is a giant replica of the human heart, complete with veins, arteries and chambers. Children can also take the controls of a model F-16 fighter jet and guide planes on a runway in a simulated control tower. Exhibits at the Everson Museum of Art (everson.com) include traditional and modern artworks from around the world. Children can learn about art at the museum's interactive Art Zone, which also allows children to create art and dress in different costumes.
The Black Mamba Skate Park (blackmambaskatepark.com) allows skateboarders of all ages to purchase time to use the park's facilities. Beginners can also learn how to skate during weekend mornings for $12 per person. The Central New York Family Sports Centre (cynfamilysportscentre.com) is an indoor and outdoor multi-use sports complex with two indoor and six outdoor fields. In addition to annual summer camps, the center organizes beginner lessons for children to learn soccer and lacrosse.
Big Don's Wild River Mini Golf (bigdons.com) is approximately a 10-minute drive from downtown Syracuse. The course is located on a historic wagon path and celebrates the area's heritage with a 1750s theme. Fifty minutes northwest of Syracuse is Thunder Island (thunder-island.com), which features a water park with slides and a lazy river, go-karts and an 18-hole mini-golf course. As of May 2011, an all-day pass for guest between 3 and 20 years of age was $17.95.
The Fun Junction (thefunjunction.com) features laser tag, video and arcade games, and an on-site pizzeria. It is located in Shoppington Mall, near Syracuse University. As of April 2011, a single game of laser tag was $8 per person. Laser tag is also offered at the Fun Warehouse (thefunwarehouse.com) for $7 per person for one game. The Fun Warehouse is west of downtown Syracuse and also features arcade games.
