Campgrounds Near Waterparks in New Jersey

While New Jersey has many campgrounds and water parks, the state does not have a combination of the two. However, campers do not need to go too far to enjoy frolicking in a water park, as there are quite a few located near campgrounds. With its large forested areas, state parks and multiple waterways, New Jersey is a well sought-after destination for rest, relaxation and enjoying Mother Nature.
  1. Skylands and Gateway Region

    • Families have fun in the water.

The Skylands and Gateway Region of New Jersey has much to offer for camping enthusiasts. The Toye Recreation, Pleasant Acres Fam Campground and Tall Timbers Seasonal Camping Resort are all situated in the Pochuck Mountains and close to Mountain Creek Waterpark, a popular local attraction. Rides include Cannonball Falls where participants shoot rapidly through a tube in pitch-black darkness and then free fall for 10 feet into cold mountain waters and/or ride the Tarzan Swings through the forest before plunging into the water.

    Shore Region

    • Shoot down a waterslide at top speed.

Brookville Campground and Surf & Stream Campground are two camping locations near Breakwater Beach Waterpark in SeaSide Heights. This new waterpark has something for everyone in the family, from little ones who can enjoy the toddler area to older children and adults who can maneuver the multilevel slides, splashing fountains and Tipping Troller that dumps huge buckets of water on unsuspecting revelers.

Greater Atlantic City & Southern Region

    • New Jersey has many sandy beaches.

The Shellbay Family Camping Resort, Cape Island Resort or Holly Shores Campground in Cape May are family camping grounds near Raging Waters & Ocean Oasis Waterparks in Wildwood. Some attractions at these waterparks include an 1,100-foot-long river, waterslides and rope swings that drop into 10-feet deep water and a children's play area. Campers can also enjoy white, sandy beaches, wooded areas and saltwater fishing when staying at the many campgrounds in this area.

    Delaware River Region

    • Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Elmer, Oldman's Creek Campground in Monroeville and Timberlane Campground in Clarksboro are only about 25 miles away from Clementon Park & Splash World, so campers can get their waterpark fix with just a short car ride. Carousers can try King Neptune's Revenge, which will carry you over Clementon Lake before tossing riders in with an exhilarating splash. Or, if leisure is what you are looking for, enjoy floating down the lazy river. Nonswimmers and young children must wear life jackets. Campers can also hike through the large stands of forests, or fish and canoe through the waterways that permeate this area of New Jersey.
