When did the witch trials end?

The last recorded execution for witchcraft in Europe took place in 1782 in Poland. However, the witch trials began to decline in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, as scientific inquiry and Enlightenment values gained prominence and skepticism towards witchcraft spread.
