The Folly Theater Kids is a theatrical company focused on providing kid-centered productions. With regular theatrical musical and theater shows, such as the "Berenstain Bears" and "The Mystery of King Tut", the venue brings to life old classics and new mysteries. As of 2010, entry fees for shows start at $6 for most productions. The theater has spaces near the bottom of the auditorium, which is wheelchair accessible and barrier free access to the bathrooms.

Kansas City has a few indoor swimming areas for children to put their swimming skills to the test and shed some of that excess energy. Most of the facilities provide family swim times as well as the option to take lessons with an instructor. One of the available facilities is the Greg/Klice Community Center, which provides special programing for children and families. Swimming lessons are open to children of all ages and skill levels.

Located in a 38-room house in Kansas City is the Toy and Miniature Museum. It is the largest collection of toys and collectibles in the Midwest. The museum has special events and programs like the Paper Doll Workshop and Fashion Doll Tour. As of 2010, the museum is open five days a week and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $6 for students and seniors and children (5 to 12 years); children 5 years and under receive free entry.
