Per the 2021 American Community Survey (1-year estimates), ~1.8 million Asian Americans reside in Texas—5.6% of the state’s 29.5 million population.
Asian population doubled 2000–2020. Fastest-growing racial group in Texas. Driven by H-1B tech/medical immigration, family reunification, refugee resettlement (Vietnamese, Burmese), and internal migration from coasts.
Texas is now the 3rd-largest Asian American state (after CA, NY).
