One mile from Sandbridge Beach, the Indian Cove Resort (indian-cove.com) is a large establishment with 364 full hook-up sites and 10 primitive camping sites for tents. Ten trailers are available for rent as well as a cottage. Indian Cove has four bath houses, a laundry room , a clubhouse and four picnic pavilions. Among its recreational facilities are three swimming pools, a tennis court, horseshoe pits, two playgrounds, a skate park and a shuffleboard court. A boat ramp is also on the grounds, along with a camp store that sells groceries, beer, fishing supplies and bait. Planned activities include dances and cookouts.
Located eight minutes to the southwest of Sandbridge Beach, the North Bay Shore Family Campground (northbayshorecampground.net) has primitive campsites, sites with water and electrical connections, and sites that are full hook-ups. Campers can also stay in cabins with refrigerators, microwaves, and air-conditioners. Fishermen can cast a line in the campground's canals that lead to the bay. Among its standard amenities are restrooms, showers, a dump station and picnic tables. North Bay Shore also has a swimming pool, playground and a boat ramp. Ice and firewood are for sale on the grounds, and boats and canoes can be rented.
Approximately 15 minutes to the north of Sandbridge Beach, the Virginia Beach KOA (koavirginiabeach.com) has a number of camping options. These include cabins, full hook-up RV sites and tent sites. A feature at this campground is a trolley that goes to the beaches during the summer months. Guests can also reach the shore via a 2-mile bike trail from the campground. In addition to the standard amenities; such as restrooms, showers and a laundry room, the KOA has a swimming pool, an outside movie theater, a miniature golf course and a playground for children. Propane gas and firewood are for sale, and bikes are available for rent.
The Holiday Trav-L-Park (campingvb.com), approximately 15 minutes north of Sandbridge Beach, has full hook-up RV sites, sites with water and electric only, and primitive tent sites. Its camping cabins have ceiling fans, porches with lights, picnic tables and grills. Some of the cabins have air conditioning. For comfort and convenience the park has covered picnic areas, a food mart near its entrance, restrooms, showers, a laundry room and dump stations. Snacks, breakfasts and ice cream can be purchased at its Cafe Calypso. Two other convenience stores are also on the grounds. Additional features include four playgrounds, a miniature golf course and a game room. Among its planned events are bingo, hay rides and nightly musical entertainment.
