Valley Plaza Events in Midland, Michigan

Valley Plaza Resort, located in Midland, Michigan, is situated on 30 acres. The resort has two hotels, multiple meeting spaces, banquet facilities and a convention center commonly used for local and international events.   1. Veterans Sweetheart Ball

    • In February, the Aleda E. Lutz Veterans Affairs Medical Center collaborates with the local community to host the annual Veterans Sweetheart Ball. Located in the Great Hall the Valley Plaza Resort, the Veterans Sweetheart Ball is a free event for active duty, National Guard or reserve veterans. Entertainment includes live music and refreshments are provided. Activities for guests include door prizes and cash bar.

    ABWA Annual Party Gras

    • The American Women’s Business Association focuses on strengthening the relationships between business professionals by promoting diversity, leadership and education. In February, the ABWA Nokomis Charter Chapter hosts the annual Party Gras in the Great Hall of the Valley Plaza Resort. Event activities typically include strolling dinner, free spa services, shopping and dancing. The cost is $40 in advance, as of February 2011.

    Mid-Michigan Golf Show

    • WMRX is a local radio station broadcast throughout the Midland, Michigan area. In March, WMRX hosts the annual Mid-Michigan Golf Show. Located in the Great Hall of the Valley Plaza Resort, the Midland Golf Show is free to the public. More than 50 exhibitors are typically scheduled for the event. The grand prize in 2010 was a Summer of Golf.

    The Bay City Times Women's Expo

    • In March, The Bay City Times hosts the annual Women’s Expo in the Grand Hall Banquet and Convention Center. Event activities include free breakfast, cooking demonstrations, gardening tips and fitness demonstrations in 2011. A fashion show, belly dancers, dance completion concludes the event. More than 70 vendors are typically on-hand offering free product samples. The event is open to the public and costs $3 in advance and $5 at the door, as of February 2011.
