• Cherokee Forest Mountain Cabins makes up for its lack of lakeside access with stunning views of Watauga Lake and numerous amenities. Four cabins are available for rent and they each come with a private hot tub, stone fireplace, full-sized kitchen, satellite TV and a porch that overlooks the lake. In the off-season, rates start at $150 a night, but jump up to $190 to $210 in the peak season, which runs from June through August, October and the holiday season in December.
