St. Lucie County is a beach-front community that resides on the eastern coast of Florida.   1. Spirit of Nature Art Camp

    • The Oxbow Eco-Center and Treasure Coast Arts Association host the week-long Spirit of Nature Art Camp. This camp is designed for creative children and teenagers ages 11 to 16 who enjoy nature. During the camp, participants will make their own nature journal and use it for creative writing, painting and drawing. An emphasis is also placed on creating Zentangles, intricate drawings made up of repetitious patterns. Attendees will be responsible for creating a project to be exhibited in the eco-center. Professional artists are on hand to guide and assist participants and help them to develop their artistic skills.

    Port St. Lucie Summer Camps

    • Port St. Lucie's civic center provides two different basic summer camps, the Civic Center Youth Camp and the X-Treme Teen Camp. The Youth Camp lasts for eight weeks and is designed for children ages 6 to 11. The X-Treme Teen Camp also lasts for eight weeks, but it is designed for children and teenagers ages 12 to 14. Participants in both of these camps go on field trips to local water parks, movie theaters and roller skating rinks. The city also offers several sports camps, including basketball, volleyball, football and soccer for children ages 3 to 18. Sports camps are broken down by age and ability to ensure that each participant receives the appropriate instruction.

    Manatee Center Summer Camps

    • At the Manatee Observation and Education Center, children can choose from nine different summer camps. Each camp is one week long and most of the camps are appropriate for children ages 6 to 12, with one camp reserved for children ages 3 to 6. All Manatee Center camps focus on introducing children to a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, snorkeling, swimming and kayaking. Some camps also integrate art with nature, allowing children to create artistic pieces while exploring the outdoors. Each camp session highlights the importance of nature and respect for wildlife.

    EZRide Summer Surf Camp

    • The EZRide Surf School provides a week-long summer surf camp for individuals of all ages interested in learning how to surf or improving their surfing skills. The minimum age for participation in the surf school is 5. The camp is designed to accommodate surfers of all levels and to provide an education on basic and advanced surfing techniques, reading waves, marine biology, water safety and personal care.
