Airlines With No Nut Policy

Federal law does not mandate that airlines make any accommodations for travelers with nut allergies. However, many airlines have nut policies that require them to make rows around allergic passengers "nut free zones," or recommend passengers work with gate and reservation agents. Allergic passengers should be aware which airlines do not have such nut policies.
  1. Continental Airlines

    • Continental Airlines does not serve packaged peanuts but makes no guarantee other foods served are not contaminated by or prepared with nuts. They recommend allergic passengers prepare for the possibility of exposure during flight.

    American Airlines

    • American Airlines makes no guarantee that foods on board are free of peanuts or peanut oil. Passengers with allergies should take necessary medical precautions in case of exposure.

    United Airlines

    • United Airlines "cannot guarantee a nut-free environment." It advises that passengers evaluate the severity of their allergy when determining if air travel is the appropriate choice.

    US Airways

    • US Airways does not make accommodations for peanut-free snack requests. It recommends passengers with allergies provide their own in-flight food.
