Europe and Russia

• For flights to and from Europe and Russia, United Economy passengers may bring one free bag; Premier, United First and similar passengers may bring two; Global Services passengers may bring three. Free bags belonging to United Economy and Premier passengers may weigh up to 50 pounds each, while those belonging to United First and Global Services passengers may weigh up to 70 pounds each. All free checked bags must measure no more than 62 linear inches (length plus width plus height). Your first excess bag on these routes costs $50 at the airport and $45 online as of October 2010.

Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico

• For flights to and from Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico, United Economy passengers may bring one free bag; Premier, United First and similar passengers may bring two; Global Services passengers may bring three. Free bags belonging to United Economy and Premier passengers may weigh up to 50 pounds each, while those belonging to United First and Global Services passengers may weigh up to 70 pounds each. All free checked bags must measure no more than 62 linear inches (length plus width plus height). Your first excess bag on these routes costs $30 at the airport and $27 online as of October 2010.

Other Destinations

• For flights to and from all other international destinations, United Economy, Premier, United First and similar passengers may bring two, and Global Services passengers may bring three. Free bags belonging to United Economy and Premier passengers may weigh up to 50 pounds each, while those belonging to United First and Global Services passengers may weigh up to 70 pounds each. All free checked bags must measure no more than 62 linear inches (length plus width plus height).

Military Personnel

• Active U.S. military personnel who are traveling on orders may bring more baggage than other passengers are allowed. These military passengers may check up to three bags for free on any international United Airlines flight. Each bag must weigh no more than 70 pounds and measure no more than 115 linear inches (length plus width plus height). Excess baggage charges apply at the same rate as for other passengers.
