Additionally, each bag must measure no more than 62 linear inches (height+length+width) or it will be subject to oversize baggage charges ranging from $100 to $300 per bag depending on the destination.
Fees for checked bags on domestic Delta flights are $23 for your first bag paid online in advance and $25 for your first bag at the airport, as of October 2010. The second bag will cost $32 online or $35 at the airport.
Fees for checked bags on flights to or from Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are the same as domestic fees. You may bring one free checked bag (conforming to weight and size restrictions) on flights to and from Mexico, Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Cayman Island. Your second bag on these flights will cost $27 online or $30 at the airport as of October 2010.

You may bring two free checked bags (conforming to weight and size restrictions) on flights to and from Brazil. These bags may weigh up to 70 lbs. each but must still measure no more than 62 linear inches.
Many fees are assessed in the local currency; if you are flying from Europe to the United States, for example, you would pay 50 Euros online or 55 Euros at the airport for your second bag.
