Passengers cannot carry alcoholic beverages that have more than 70 percent alcohol by volume (140 proof). Any alcoholic beverage below that limit must be transported in a container that completely encloses the bottle.
Hazardous materials, such as lighters, lighter fluid, briefcases with alarm devices, incapacitating sprays, poisons and noxious materials cannot be carried in passengers' bags. Some medically necessary items can be exempted from these restrictions, depending on the item. Firearms in checked baggage and/or in their own shipping cases are unloaded and declared.
Passengers can carry electronic devices in their bags, but some items, such as cellular phones, remote-control toys, televisions and AM/FM transmitters-receivers must stay turned off at all times. Passengers can transport and use laptops, shavers, calculators, hand-held computer games, portable video players and portable CD players.
