Delta Flight Regulations

Flying with Delta Airlines can connect you with destinations regionally and worldwide. While in flight, the airline asks you to respect a few key regulations concerning baggage, purchases and pets.
  1. Carry-Ons

    • Passengers may carry one piece of luggage that fits in the overhead bins or underneath the seat and measures no more than 22 inches by 14 inches by nine inches. In addition, passengers may also carry a purse, briefcase, laptop, jackets, or other "assistance items."

    In-flight Purchases

    • In North America, Delta operates a paperless purchase system that requires you to use your credit card to buy food, drinks or duty-free items on board. Bring a credit card and photo ID on board if you plan to make any purchases.

    Checked Baggage

    • Delta charges for checked baggage within the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Bags must weigh under 50 lbs. and have a combined size of less than 62 inches. Check international baggage restrictions for allowances when traveling internationally on long-haul flights.

    Pets

    • Your pet can travel with you in the cabin if it fits in a kennel that will fit under the seat. Your pet will be counted as your one piece of carry-on luggage and incur a fee to travel with you. If the pet is too big, it can travel as checked baggage.
