Air Jamaica allows first class passengers to take three checked bags, but only two for economy class travelers. These bags are included in the ticket fee when the passenger is traveling within the Caribbean or between the Caribbean and the U.S. and Canada.
Checked baggage must not exceed 50 lbs. and must not be larger than the maximum size of 62 in. Carry-on baggage is limited to 30 lbs. and 45 in. On small planes, your carry-on must fit under the seat in front of you.
One piece of carry-on baggage is allowed for passengers of all cabins; however, one additional personal item, like a computer, purse, garment bag, wheelchair, stroller or overcoat, is also allowed without a fee. Liquids must follow TSA regulations, just as in the United States.
Luggage between 51 and 70 lbs. may be checked for an additional fee. Between the Caribbean, the U.S. and Toronto, the fee is $75 US; charges to other points in Canada from Jamaica is $100 US or $100 CA if traveling from Canada. Within Canada, the charge is only $25 US.
Checked luggage in addition to the free allowance will cost $150 each piece for both economy and first class passengers traveling between the Caribbean, the U.S. and Toronto. Excess baggage to other points in Canada incurs a $225 fee. Excess bags must be 62 in. or less and weigh 70 lbs. or less. Passengers are limited to three items of excess luggage each.
Air Jamaica does not accept pets on board flights.
