Avianca refers to its economy class as "Tourist Class" offering passengers a wide variety of in-flight entertainment and menu options. Depending upon the flights length and departure time those passengers seated in Tourist Class will have the choice between two menu options that are complimented with pre-selected beverages and finished with an authentic Columbian desert. Special meals can be provided to those with health conditions as long as the request is noted when making the reservation.
Avianca allows all passengers one piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 22 lbs. Additionally, each passenger may carry-on a personal item such as a woman's purse, laptop bag, or briefcase at no charge. Avianca also abides by the United States 3-1-1 rule for carrying on liquids and gels into the cabin. As many liquids and gels in containers holding 3.4 oz. or less that can fit into a 1 quart sized plastic bag may be carried on the plane. As for checked baggage, those passengers seated in business class may check three bags free of charge and those seated in tourist class may check two bags. All bags must weigh 50 lbs. or less.
