How to Send a Car From Maui to Kauai

The Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai --- or any of the other Hawaiian islands for that matter --- are not connected by bridge, which makes transporting a vehicle from one island to another a bit of a complication. Fortunately there are companies in Hawaii that will move your vehicle from Maui to Kauai for you --- for a fee. All you have to do is make a reservation and pay the fee associated with interisland vehicle transport.

Instructions

  Contact a Hawaiian vehicle shipment company, such as Young Brothers or Magic Carpet Auto Transport, to make a reservation to transport your vehicle.

  Provide the shipping company with your name, the name of the person you want to pick up your vehicle on Kauai --- no one but this person is permitted to pick up your vehicle --- the year, make, and model of your vehicle, the VIN, and the license plate number.

  Designate a shipment date and tell the shipping company that you're shipping your car from Maui to Kauai.

  Gather your vehicle insurance information, registration and your identification. Drop off your vehicle at the shipping company's address and provide the company with your insurance, registration and ID. You may pay for your shipment now or after you pick up your vehicle on Kauai.

  Inspect your vehicle for damage when it docks in Kauai.
