Getting to Liberty Park by Car

  Take I-78 to exit 14b if traveling by car.

  Exit, continue straight and take a right onto Communipaw Avenue, and then take the first (and only) right onto Johnston Avenue.

  These directions lead directly into Liberty Park where there is a small charge for parking.

Getting to Liberty Park by Public Transport

  Take the Central Avenue bus from platform A3 that originates at Journal Square Terminal (Jersey City).

  Take the PATH subway to Exchange Place from Newark Penn Station or Journal Square, and then take the Light Rail to the park.

  Visitors can take the Light Rail to Liberty Park when traveling from Hoboken.

Taking the Ferry

  Take a ferry, which is the only way to reach Liberty Island. The ferry slip is located in Liberty Park and can be accessed via all the methods mentioned above.

  Observe the operating hours. The ferry runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 7 days a week.

  Pay admission. The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $3 for 3- to 17-year-olds, and free for children younger than 3. These prices are for a round-trip ticket and include a trip to both Liberty and Ellis Islands.
