Canoes, rowboats, paddle boats, and kayaks are all available to rent. Paddle or row down the waterway leading to Fish Creek. The campground is approximately 25 miles from Mount Marcy. RVs up to 40 feet can be accommodated. Amenities include 287 campsites, hot showers, flush toilets, trailer dumping station, boat launch (25 HP or under), volleyball, canoeing, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling and Interpreter Activity Program. Camping is $20 a night and the site is handicapped-accessible.

The lake is fully stocked with trout, so bring a fishing pole. There is a 17.4-mile loop hiking trail system that intermingles with other paths offering hikers over 50 miles of well developed trails.
