Start by finding a good, sturdy location on the roof of the RV. Make sure the location is strong enough to hold the weight of the air conditioner and that there are no obstacles inside the RV, such as wiring or lights. Make sure that all the edges of the air conditioners are at least eight inches away from the edge of the RV's roofs edge.
Measure the size of the unit and mark on the roof. Cut a hole with a saw big enough to accommodate the roof section of the air conditioner unit. With a caulking gun, apply silicone-based sealant around the edges of the hole. Mount the roof section of the Carrier air conditioner and secure it with mounting brackets and screws.
Plug the roof section into the ceiling section of the air conditioner inside the RV. Connect the wires from the roof unit to the ceiling unit to do so. Then, connect the color-coded wires from the entire air conditioning unit to the wall outlet. Secure the ceiling portion of the unit by tightening the mounting bolts or screws supplied with the unit. Plug into the ceiling connector and turn all power on and cool off.
