Find a sturdy location on the roof of your RV. Make sure the location is strong enough and there is no wiring in the way. Also be sure it is not located above any lights inside the RV. When placing the air conditioner on the roof, make sure that all the edges of the air conditioning unit are at least eight inches from the roof edges. Next measure the exact size of the air conditioner. Cut a hole with a saw that is big enough for the roof portion of the air conditioner. Be sure that you double check the measurements before cutting the hole. Mark the locations where the bolts also will go.
After cutting the hole, apply some sealant around the hole to help prevent leakage. Mount the roof portion into the hole and secure it with the bolts in the locations that you previously marked. Install the bolts on the inside of the RV that will hold the unit in place. Then put the unit in place, mount and secure it. Be sure to put sealant where the unit meets the ceiling.
Connect the wiring to the proper locations in the unit. The wiring should be color-coded, making it easier. Match the colors, such as black to black, white to white and so on. Plug into the ceiling connector, and turn the power on. Sit back and enjoy your new Carrier roof air conditioner.
