How to Replace Motorhome Windows

When windows on RVs start to age, they begin to leak. They cloud up and get cracks in them. Some people replace their windows to prevent future problems. This is a nice do-it-yourself project that will add value to any motorhome. Do-it-yourself doesn't have to mean do-it-alone, so get yourself a helper and get started.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Putty knife
  • Silicone window caulking
  • Putty tape
  • Replacement window the same size as the one you're replacing

Instructions

Unscrew the window from from inside the RV using a screwdriver. Have the assistant outside the RV hold the window so it doesn't fall and break.

Take the putty knife and scrape off the old caulking and sealant on the outside of the window. Remove the window from the frame. Put new putty tape inside the opening for the window.

Place the frame of the new window into position and line it up and screw the frame into place. Have the assistant hold the new window in place.

    • 5

Put a 1/3 inch of caulk around the window. Allow the caulking to dry for a day.
