RV Toilet Cleaning

RV toilets are made from plastic, making them harder to keep clean. There are many no-no's when it comes to cleaning the sinks, toilets, and shower in your RV. An abrasive scrub can damage the unit. Bleach also can be harmful. The best cleaning ingredients are found right in your kitchen cupboard.
  1. Cleaning the Toilet

    • To clean the inside of your toilet, mix a cleaning solution of baking soda and white vinegar. Pour about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of white vinegar directly into the toilet bowl and sprinkle some baking soda in. Use a decent amount of baking soda, about 1/4 cup. Using a soft sponge, cloth or toilet brush, clean the inside of the tank. To clean the lid and the sides of the toilet, use a disinfectant wipe. Clean your toilet every few days. This will ensure that the toilet is sanitary, and it will help eliminate the buildup of marks on the toilet.

    Cleaning the Floor

    • To clean the floors in your RV, vacuum them while you are vacuuming your carpet. Wipe the floors down every few days. Use some white vinegar added to water to mop the floors. Apply a coat of Mop 'n Glo twice a month or more.

    Cleaning the Stovetop

    • Wipe your stovetop down after each use. At least every six months, remove the top plate from the appliance and wipe out any crumbs, spills, etc. with a cloth damp with soap and water. Use white toothpaste to polish the enamel-coated metal. This will remove stains and shine the stovetop.
