Click Flooring Vs. Vinyl Tile in an RV

Some people want to upgrade their RVs to keep older models up to date with newer ones. Sometimes people improve flooring because the original is stained, worn and needs to be replaced. There are many different routes to take with flooring. You can use carpeting, ceramic tile, hardwood or vinyl tile-to-wood laminate (also know as click flooring). When choosing your desired floor, keep in mind that ceramic tile and hardwood weigh a lot and carpeting is a dirt collector. Therefore, the best choice is often click floor or vinyl.
  1. Click Flooring

    • Click flooring gets its name because the pieces click together. This laminate is made by several companies, so make sure you pick a good one. The underlayment should be directly attached to the laminate. It comes in various wood types, shades of color and widths of boards. It is resilient and easy to clean. It will make soft spots disappear, but moisture can accumulate under the boards in spots and cause adhesion problems.

    Vinyl Flooring

    • Vinyl tile flooring comes in a wide variety of colors, designs and sizes. It comes in a peel-off form that you simply stick down. Make sure you get the best quality, which has adhesive fully spread across the whole tile. The tiles are waterproof and stain-resistant. Vinyl tiles are the easiest to clean and by choosing the right color and design you can express your unique personality. The only problem is that any voids in the sub-flooring need to be fixed or the tiles can collapse into them or crack.

    Pets

    • If you travel with pets, that's a huge consideration in what type of flooring you choose. If you have a dog that loves the outdoors, particularly the water, he's not the cleanest or driest; when it comes in, you'll need something that is durable and easy to clean, and vinyl is probably your best bet. Also, your pooch's nails will not claw into into as easily. Even if you have a pet in tow, however, it's still a matter of your personal preference.
