Instructions

    • 1

Start your 2000 Electra Glide and let the engine get to operating temperature. Turn off the engine.

    • 2

Remove the dipstick on the right side of the bike carefully, as the engine is still quite warm.

    • 3

Place a drain pan underneath the Electra Glide. Remove the oil drain plug at the front of the oil pan. Drain all the oil out of the bike.

    • 4

      Reinstall the oil drain plug.

    • 5

Remove the oil filter with an oil filter wrench. Clean the area, known as the mounting boss surface, with a shop rag.

    • 6

Lubricate the rubber gasket on the new oil filter with clean motor oil. Install the new filter by hand.

    • 7

Tighten the filter a half turn after the filter gasket comes in contact with the mounting boss surface.

    • 8

Add 3.5 quarts of 20W-50 Harley oil into the filler hole.

    • 9

Wipe off the oil dipstick and insert it into the filler hole. Check the oil level and add oil if needed.
