Camping Near Texas Motor Speedway

Texas Motor Speedway is home to many major NASCAR events. Camping nearby is a popular way for racing fans to take part in the events. In fact, it is so popular that Texas Motor Speedway boasts that during weekend events it becomes its own city -- the 12th largest city in Texas.
  1. Types

    • Tent camping is widely available near the speedway. There are 1,700 unreserved tent campsites west of the speedway and two large areas called Tent City to the east. RV camping is available near Texas Motor Speedway also. The speedway has Burnout Alley, reserved infield camping, outside reserved campgrounds, and a family campground, all of which accomodate RV's.

    Locations

    • In addition to the camping available near the speedway, there are more campgrounds within a short drive. For example, Northlake Village RV Park is just three minutes away and The Vineyards Campground on Lake Grapevine is only about 15 miles from the speedway.

    Fun Facts

    • There are nearly 8,000 campsites around Texas Motor Speedway. During a Cup race, more than 30,000 fans will camp there.
