Campgrounds in Northeast Tennessee

When choosing a location for your RV or tent camping vacation, consider the Northeast region of Tennessee. This region of the "Volunteer State" is home to the Great Smoky Mountains, which offers campers with hiking and cycling trails during the summer as well as opportunities for skiing in the winter months.     • Raccoon Valley in Heiskell is an approximate 30-minute drive northwest of Knoxville and is nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Amenities at the park include an outdoor swimming pool, clubhouse with a library and kitchen area, guest laundromat, dump station and facilities for showers and restrooms. The campground has 76 RV parking spots with water and electric hook-ups. Raccoon Valley also provides a network of hiking trails throughout the campground's property.

    Camping in the Smokies: Gatlinburg RV Park

    • The Camping in the Smokies campground is less than 15 minutes from the East Tennessee resort town Gatlinburg. This resort town features tourist attractions such as Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and the Ober Gatlinburg recreational park. Camping in the Smokies offers amenities such as a a guest laundromat, picnic areas with barbecue grills, shower facilities, outdoor swimming pool and shuttle service from the campground to Gatlinburg attractions.     Misty River Cabins & RV Resort

    • Situated approximately an hour south of Knoxville, the 45-acre Misty River RV resort is in the Northeast Tennessee city of Walland, and the resort offers amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool tub, storage units, guest laundromat, shower facilities and access to Wi-Fi Internet throughout the park. The resort also has a clubhouse that facilitates group gatherings. Each of the 54 RV parking spots has water, electric, cable and sewage hook-ups.     • Lakeview RV Park is right off U.S. Highway 11, and its location on Boone Lake shoreline provides vacationers with fishing and boating opportunities. Rentals are available for pontoon and paddle boats.     Cherokee Trails Campground & Stables

    • The Cherokee Trails Campground is less than five minutes from the southern fork of South Holston Lake in Northeast Tennessee. The resort offers boat rentals for trout fishing. The campground also provides amenities that include restroom and shower facilities, a cookhouse with kitchen and a picnic area with barbecue grills. Guests who bring horses with them can take advantage of the campground's equestrian center and trails that extend throughout Cherokee Trails' property.
