Avery Lake State Forest Campground offers rustic sites for tents or small campers. There are 16 sites, but three are walk-in for tent campers only. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, as reservations are not taken. The campground is located on Avery Lake, a secluded lake with a boat launch ideal for fishing. Camp amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. Activities other than fishing and boating include hiking trails, off-road vehicle trails and wildlife viewing. A permit is not required to enter the park, but there is a camping fee.

Clear Lake State Park's secluded campground is located near the sandy beach of Clear Lake, which is surrounded by trees and has a large, clear shallow area off the beach that is ideal for young children. The lake also has a boat launch for water recreation and fishing. The 200 campsites at the park are modern, with electricity, modern bathrooms and a small cabin for rent. Activities at the park include biking, hiking, cross-country skiing in winter, boating, swimming, fishing and watching wildlife. Campers can access two trails, a 4.5 mile hiking trail and a 48.5 mile scenic driving trail. Reservations to stay at Clear Lake State Park are recommended, and a park permit is required at the entrance. Campsite costs per night vary, depending on the season.

Jackson Lake State Forest Campground features 18 rustic campsites for tents or small campers. The campground is located on Jackson Lake, a small lake ideal for boating and fishing. Amenities at the campground include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. Jackson Lake State Forest has two marked trails. The Clear Lake/Jackson Lake Pathway is 7.5 miles long, and the High Country Pathway is 80 miles in length. The campground is an ideal stop for High Country Pathway hikers. There are also designated off-road vehicle trails close to the sites. No permit is required to enter the state forest, but there is a camping fee.
