Liberty, Washington Camping

The small, unincorporated community of Liberty, Washington is known for its hiking trails, abundance of wildlife and bird-watching lookout points. Nestled on the outskirts of the Cascade mountain range, Liberty's convenient location, in between the cities of Cle Elum and Wenatchee, is near several secluded campgrounds with beautiful views and trails, providing a quiet respite in the Wenatchee National Forest.

  1. Lakeside Camping at Wish Poosh

    • A 20-mile drive from Liberty, the Wish Poosh campground sits on the banks of Cle Elum Lake. The campground features 29 single sites, five double sites and over a dozen picnicking areas. Amenities include restrooms, a paved boat launch and boat trailer parking. The closest campground to Cle Elum Lake, Wish Poosh is popular for water tubing, kayaking or water-skiing.

    A Primitive Reprieve at Mineral Springs

    • A 10-minute drive north of Liberty, Mineral Springs Campground has six single sites and a group site with accommodations for parties of up to 50 people, Mineral Springs can cater to large groups, family reunions, corporate retreats and more. The campground has fire pits, picnic areas and quick access to several nearby trails, most notably Red Top Mountain, 2.5-mile round trip pathway that features views of Mount Rainer in the distance.

    Full Service Camping at Eagle Valley

    • Eagle Valley Campground is a full service campground owned by the Washington State Fraternal Order of Eagles. Located in the city of Cle Elum, approximately 20 minutes south of Liberty, Eagle Valley's amenities include an 18-hole miniature golf course, pool tables, horseshoe pits, a playground, picnicking areas, full restrooms with free showers, coin-operated laundry, a full-service kitchen facility available for meal preparation and a youth building with pool tables and televisions. Wi-Fi and an ATM are also on site.

    Nestled in the Trees

    • An 8.5 mile drive north of Liberty, Swauk Campground is a primitive campground situated in the heart of the Wenatchee National Forest. The campground features 19 single sites and two double sites. There are no RV hookups, making this campground a true reprieve from modern technology. A picnic shelter on-site provides cool summer shading. Although there are no full restrooms, there are vault toilets and drinking water in the common area. The campground is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
