RV Camping Along Forest Road 39 in the Hells Canyon Area in Oregon

The Hells Canyon National Recreation Area follows the Snake River as it rushes through northeastern Oregon and western Idaho in Hells Canyon, North America’s deepest river gorge. Part of Wallowa Loop Road is also called Forest Road 39, and this designated National Scenic Byway provides stunning views of the river and canyon. Campgrounds in this remote area have limited amenities and do not require or accept reservations.
