Campgrounds Around Morris, Pennsylvania

At the foothills of the Pine Creek Gorge -- affectionately called the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania by locals -- Morris is home to roughly 600 people. Make the small town in north-central Pennsylvania your gateway to the area, where rolling mountains covered in old-growth timber are interrupted only by a historic canyon with cascading waterfalls. Area campgrounds provide the best access to experience this abounding beauty.

  1. Stay Local

    • Named for its position at the convergence of Babb and Wilson Creek, Twin Streams Campground hosts campsites, camper trailers and cabins available for rent in Morris. Camper trailers and cabins come equipped with bedrooms, living rooms and kitchenettes stocked with plates, pots and utensils, but bring your own bedding. Long-term campers appreciate the cable television and wireless Internet. The park's many trees shade campsites overlooking the streams without obstructing views of the surrounding woods, where deer, black bears and turkeys roam.

In addition, the park offers a shuttle service that hauls campers' bicycles, canoes and kayaks to nearby recreation hot spots, Pine Creek Rail Trail and Pine Creek.

    At the Bend

    • At a bend in Pine Creek, Pettecote Junction Campground lies approximately 13 miles southwest of Morris. The campground has 43 shady, grassy sites overlooking the creek, which are suitable for both recreational vehicles and primitive tent camping. In addition, the park has another 90 campsites and three cabins set throughout the campground. Take advantage of the park's canoe and bicycle rentals to explore the creek and the Pine Creek Rail Trail that follows along the southern boundary of the park.

    Canyon Views
