Campgrounds in Gallatin, Tennessee

Gallatin, Tennessee, is just 20 miles north of Nashville, also known as Music City. Its proximity to the Grand Ole Opry as well as the outdoors makes it an ideal place to stay for folks who enjoy country-western music as well as camping. Visitors can spend their days boating and fishing and their nights at a concert.
  1. Bledsoe Creek State Park

    • Bledsoe Creek State Park, on Old Hickory Lake, has 57 campsites with electricity, which makes them suitable for recreational vehicles. The sites have fire rings, lantern poles and picnic tables, a bathhouse with showers and toilets. Bledsoe Creek has two boat launches, one inside the park for registered campers only and one outside the park for everyone else. Fishing and hiking trails, including one mile of paved trail for the disabled, also are available.

    Cages Bend Campground

    • Cages Bend Campground is located on the Old Hickory reservoir. It is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It has 43 sites with water and electric hook-ups for RVs. Open April through October, the campground has showers, laundry, playground and a boat launch. Campground activities include boat and bank fishing and bird watching for wading birds and waterfowl. The campground is gated, and the Corps only permits emergency access between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Camping stays are limited to 14 days every 30 days.

    Cedar Creek Campground

    • Cedar Creek is another Corps of Engineers campground located on Old Hickory Lake. It is clos to Nashville and not too far from the Hermitage, the home of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. The campground has 49 sites with water and electric hook-ups; 30 and 50 amp service is available. Other amenities include a dump station, boat launch, playground, laundry and two shower buildings. Campers may see wildlife such as deer, turkeys, rabbits and snakes nearby, and may be serenaded by songbirds.
