    Anvil Campground

    • Anvil Campground is family-owned and operated. Established in 1954 and now run by the family's third generation, the campground gets its name from a symbol of the family's long history of blacksmithing in Williamsburg. The founder and his father made locks, hinges, shutter dogs and gates for Colonial Williamsburg from 1929 to 1935. A small set of examples are on display. The campground claims to be the "closest campground to all the major attractions." It is also the only campground offering shuttle services to surrounding restaurants, shops and points of interest, such as Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens or Water Country USA. Yorktown and Jamestown are nearby as well, and there are bicycle racks on the buses if you have your cycle stowed in the RV.

Within the camp are two heated pools, free cable and wireless Internet. You will fit in whether you have a big rig, a tent or a sleeping bag (cabins are available), and summer activities are available for the whole family: The dogs can even enjoy the dog parks. Two laundry rooms are in camp, and for the kids there are game rooms, a volleyball court, a basketball court, horseshoe pits and a playground.
