Georgia State Parks & RV Campgrounds

When traveling through the state of Georgia, many visitors prefer to either travel with a fully contained RV or with a camper or tent. There are many state parks and campgrounds scattered throughout the state that offer camping as well as other activities such as hiking, fishing and swimming. Some are open all year round while others are open seasonally. Planning your route is simple if you know where parks and campgrounds are located.
  1. Reed Bingham State Park

    • Reed Bingham State Park encompasses 1,613 acres including a 375 acre lake. There are seven miles of hiking trails where visitors will enjoy rare wildlife such as gopher turtles and bald eagles. Boating is allowed on the lake and canoe and kayaks can be rented on site. Fishing is allowed from the dock and from boats. Bicycle rental is also available. There are primitive campsites as well as more civilized areas to camp with picnic areas nearby. RV sites with complete hookups are also available.

    Black Rock Mountain State Park

    • Black Rock Mountain State Park offers 11 miles of hiking trails through thick forest areas where visitors will enjoy stunning waterfalls and views from an altitude of 3,640 feet. The park consists of 1,743 acres and has a 17 acre lake that is full of catfish, trout and bass. Fishing is allowed from docks and the edge of the lake. For campers, there are campsites that range from primitive to more civilized and several picnic shelters are available. RV sites with cable television hookups are also available. There are ten cottages available, and two of them are pet friendly.

    Poteete Creek Campground

    • Poteete Creek Campground is located on the banks of Lake Nottely and is open from April first to October fifteenth. The campground has 59 sites for trailers, RV's and tents. Most of the sites include power and water and there is a dump site available. A bath house and showers as well as bathrooms are on site. The lake offers a boat ramp, fishing and a beach area with picnic tables. There is a small convenience store and video game room as well as areas for volleyball, badminton, basketball and horseshoes. A hiking trail will allow visitors to enjoy nature and wildlife.
