State Parks Along Interstate 85 in Georgia & South Carolina

Travelers on Interstate 85 through Georgia and South Carolina can stop at state parks along the way for a short break or overnight camping. These parks offer camping facilities and cabins, along with outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, swimming and mountain biking.
  1. Tugaloo State Park

    • Tugaloo State Park, just off Interstate 85 near the South Carolina line in Lavonia, Georgia, is located on Lake Hartwell. It offers visitors and campers fishing, boating and swimming on the lake. Tugaloo State Park has more than 100 tent and RV campsites with electric and water connections. Visitors can also stay in one of the park's 20 cottages and five primitive campsites. Amenities include shower and laundry facilities, hiking trails, tennis courts and a miniature golf course. Visitors can also swim and picnic at the park's sandy beach on Lake Hartwell.

    Victoria Bryant State Park

    • Victoria Bryant State Park, is less than 10 miles from Interstate 85 in Royston, Georgia. It features an 18-hole golf course and 27 tent and RV campsites with electric and water connections. The park has shower and laundry facilities and two primitive campgrounds, which can accommodate almost 100 campers. Visitors to the park go hiking and mountain biking, swim, fish at two ponds and play at one of three children's playgrounds. A nature center at the park is an educational hub with information about the area and its wildlife.

    Paris Mountain State Park

    • Paris Mountain State Park is less than five miles from Interstate 85 in Greenville, South Carolina. The park features 39 campsites for tents and RVs that offer electric and water connections. The park has a lodge with full kitchen, bath and shower facilities holds groups of 40 campers. Paris Mountain State Park also offers 10 cabins with no bath or showers. Visitors can fish on the park's lake, hike and mountain bike on mountain trails, and a exercise on a playground. Rent canoes and kayaks on the lake, where no private boats are allowed.
